Door entry systems can significantly increase the security of your premises. There are many types of keyless entry systems and in the latest blog post from Wilson Alarm Systems, we discuss the benefits of door entry systems for your business.

What is Keyless Entry?

Keyless entry is a method by which a door or gate may be opened, without the use of a traditional key. A door entry system may make use of the following to allow access:

A swipe card, which individuals can swipe against an entry system.
A proximity card, which works within a certain range of a sensor on the door.
An electric fob
A pin code system

There are many more methods that a door entry system may use, however, the above options prevent copies being made – such a when a traditional key is cut.

Additionally, the above are all examples of items that may be deactivated if an employee should leave or their card or fob has been misplaced or stolen. Deactivation of these methods of entry saves a business money by negating the need for the lock to be replaced and avoids the need for new keys to be cut.

Aside from the obvious savings, access control fobs and cards may also come with pre-programmed access rights so that you can control which employees have access to which rooms.
